Carducci Associates created a garden focusing on three distinct zones for human interaction: an entry experience as an exterior lobby, a transition zone, and a garden zone to provide a space for healing and contemplation. These environments reinforce the Hospital’s locality with rich colors and textures pulled from resources throughout the region providing the largely local patient-base a sense of comfort. The plant palette extends to a fourth zone; shade gardens that are uniquely positioned outside windows of waiting areas to provide a sense of calmness.
