Carducci and Associates is working with Ormondale Elementary School on the conceptual design of a new Sensory Path that transforms an existing circulation route into an engaging, movement-based learning experience. Set within a mature redwood grove, the design carefully balances playful exploration with respect for the natural landscape, creating a path that feels both adventurous and grounded in its surroundings.

The Sensory Path introduces a series of age-appropriate challenges—such as changes in texture, rhythm, and form - that encourage balance, coordination, and imaginative play while remaining accessible to a wide range of students. Funded through the Portola Valley Schools Foundation’s Fund-A-Need program, the project reflects a shared vision for enriching daily school life through outdoor environments that support wellness, creativity, and connection to nature. Design is currently in process.
