Las Positas College Center for the Arts is a LEED® Silver project that includes a 1,500-seat amphitheater used for education, performances, and community events. The grounds feature native grasses and oak trees, as well as formal plantings that accentuate building entries, provide seasonal color, and lend a traditional campus feel. The Center for the Arts site incorporates sustainable design strategies, including a turf-tiered amphitheater that retains and filters rainwater—and provides comfortable seating on hot days.  Water efficiency is enhanced by plantings that filter and detain stormwater prior to its release into the municipal system.
