The San Jose Middle School track and field renovation primarily focuses on the transformation of the existing outdoor facilities to enhance athletic and recreational opportunities for students and the community. This includes the replacement of the current cinder track with a modern 6-lane, ¼ mile synthetic surfaced track - with an outside safety lane - as well as the replacement of the existing grass field with synthetic turf, complete with soccer and lacrosse lines and football hash marks for versatile use. Moreover, the project entails installing new retaining walls, constructing a fresh hardcourt surface—complete with upgraded sports amenities for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball—to improve usability, and erecting perimeter fencing around the field and track to ensure safety and security.
