Set in the hills above the Unity in Marin church, the Meditation Garden offers private, and group space.
Only half an acre in size the garden appears larger than it really is.
At the entrance is a cardinal glass mosaic and an entrance gate with a stream running below.
The main path interlaces a swale, hiding and revealing space.
A group circle area is hidden behind a living wall of weaved willow branches and centers on a fountain.
Other areas include an earthen and stone grotto set into the hillside, a wind pavilion,
a rectilinear wood deck with large stones piercing the edge, and various timber seating and vista points for private thought.
Carducci & Associates collaborated closely with the Unity in Marin church community to meet their needs and concerns,
holding several discussions and presentations, where their needs and concerns were directly incorporated into the design.
