In collaboration with the San Jose Unified School District and the architect, Carducci & Associates, Inc.
developed this 2.2-acre site plan that provides an artful and inspiring learning environment for users. Family Early Learning Center
houses a multi-use community facility, an adult and general eduction center, district administration offices, health center facilities, a preschool, and a playground.
By linking childcare and adult schools, the site serves the needs of the family as well as the individual.
The childrens' campus includes a celestial play area, play hills, an interactive water play feature, and a wave trike track.
Vibrant colors, exciting shapes, and variation of the play surface material and height lead to co-operative and imaginitive play that encourages social interaction and problem-solving skill development.
The adult campus uses softer colors, and enclosing shapes to provide students a safe and meditative outdoor study environment.
Features of the adult campus include sloping lawns, an outdoor forum for class discussions, and a performance plaza.
