Civic
Dublin City Library:Dublin City Library Carducci & Associates designed and produced schematic design, site planning and full construction documents for the landscape of the Dublin Library, including the Tree Preservation Plan, Layout Plan, Planting Plan, Irrigation Plan, and Construction Details. ![]() Carducci & Associates' design successfully unifies surrounding civic land uses. A strong axial, tree-lined pedestrian corridor links City Hall with the library. The parking configuration maximizes spaces for both the library and City Hall. At Dublin Library, a well-defined entrance and drop-off circle creates a sense of arrival. From inside the library, the landscape outside becomes an interactive experience for visitors. A rock and bamboo garden outside the library's main reading room creates a relaxing and meditative quality. A viewing garden, based on "Alice in Wonderland", outside the childrens' collection contains large pots with flowering trees and a grid of flowering sea pink and blue fescue grass, flanked by large sunflowers. This creative and playful space sparks children’s imagination. Sitting terraces provide a peaceful spot for breaks and lunches for the staff. |
