Civic Park
Cupertino's Civic Park is a 12-acre mixed-use development proposed at the current Cupertino Town Center location adjacent to Cupertino City Hall and the Main
Library. The conceptual plan for the project adds new medical offices, commercial offices, retail, and condominium and townhouse residences to the existing medical office uses. At the heart
of the new development is Civic Park. This green heart is a community gathering place for people who live and work on site
and for residents throughout Cupertino. Neo-urban vision was used in the design at Civic Park. An overall high-density grid layout creates a viable,
pedestrian-friendly environment. Throughout the site, heritage oaks and redwoods are preserved. Civic Park also uses environmentally sustainable
techniques for mitigating on-site storm water. Permeable pavers are used at Civic Park to decrease the rate of run off water and to recharge the natural water table and
the Park itself becomes a bio-basin during rainstorms.
